When is parking free?
Street parking in downtown Fayetteville is typically free on weekends, federal holidays, and after 5pm on weekdays. The City of Fayetteville enforces on-street meters and city-owned lots Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm only.
- Weekends — all day Saturday and Sunday
- Federal holidays — all day
- Weekday evenings — after 5pm, until 9am the next morning
- 600+ on-street spaces stay free even during events
Do not pay the parking app outside those enforcement hours. ParkMobile does not know the City's free hours and will still charge you, with no refund.
City parking decks typically follow the same schedule, though a deck may charge a flat event fee at the entrance during some events. Privately run lots set their own hours and are not covered by the City's free hours. Posted signage is the authority; these hours are published by the City of Fayetteville and can change.
